How Can I Send Email From My Domain When Connected to Another ISP?

by ISP Services on August 27, 2012

I am unable to send email (smtp) using an email client when I connect my computer at home. It works fine when I connect my PC at work. I believe this is because my ISP for my domain blocks outgoing mail if connected to a different server.
Every time I want to send mail from home I have to goto the website and login and send it direct from the website.
Is there a way around this?

I guess it’s because Outlook/Outlook Express/Windows Mail by default assumes you’re currently connected to the ISP that you are using for SMTP, and so authentication is not required.

In Outlook etc:
Tools >> Account settings >> (double-click you account) >> More settings >> Outgoing Server (tab) >> Tick “my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” and dot the “Use same setting as my incoming mail server”.
